“You don't know your past, you won't know your future, every man” Tomorrow People, Ziggy Marley
I started this blog ten years ago as Rockett's Landing to share parallels in my life's experiences with those I imagined my ancestors having in their lives. Since my daughter (HRB) married back in February 2023, I was going to wait to work on my son-in-law's (BAC) family history until they started having a family, but after their visit last month when he innocently left a copy of his mother's family information at our home, I have given in to temptation and plunged right in!
BAC's family lines have presented new research challenges for me. LOVING IT! With his immigrants coming to America from France, Germany, Switzerland, Barbados, and England (to name a few), it seems appropriate to expand this blog name to Rockett's Landing and Other Ports of Call.
Here are a few of the surnames being researched at this site for:
BAC: Biane, Botkin, Carroll, Cutrer, Dunhurst, Furr, Healy, Honaker, Lailhengue, LaSalle, Mercier, Meyer, Pendarvis, Powell, Roots, Salley, and Watkins
